Full-time, ten month position serving at-risk elementary school students as an alternative education teacher.  The alternative education teacher implements lesson plans across a variety of academic subject areas, provides instructional support for students to correlate with their needs, adapts instruction based on students’ emotional, behavioral, academic, and social needs, and demonstrates an understanding, patient, respectful and receptive attitude towards all students.  The teacher will work collaboratively with other division staff to address student needs.  This position receives full time benefits.  It is preferred that the successful candidate possess or be eligible to hold a Elementary Education PK-6 teaching license issued by the Virginia Department of Education.
